We are currently exploring the possibility of building a dedicated mobile app that would make it easier to manage nearly everything on the go. The idea is to bring core account functionality into a mobile-first experience, including signing in, registering, updating account settings, and much more.
What the app is meant for
The goal of the app is simple: make everyday account management faster and more convenient on mobile. While our web platforms already work well on mobile browsers, there are plenty of moments where you just want to quickly open an app, adjust a setting, check your account, or review updates without opening a browser and typing in a URL.
The mobile app would be designed specifically for mobile devices, with an interface built around touch, speed, and convenience.
What we are still researching
At this time, development has not officially started yet. We are still researching some important technical areas first, especially around how mobile support should work with:
SSO providers
Password reset flows
Passkey support
Authentication behavior across devices
These areas need to be handled properly before we move forward, so we are taking the time to evaluate the best approach.
News, updates, and notifications
One of the features we already know we want is built-in access to news and updates, similar to what is available on the website today. The difference is that the app would also support push notifications, so once enabled, you would receive an alert whenever a new news article or update is published.
This would make it much easier to stay informed without needing to manually check the website.
Donations stay on the web
There is also one important limitation: one-time and monthly donations will remain web-only.
Because of Google Play Store and Apple App Store policies, supporting donations directly inside the mobile app would require us to use their payment systems. That would result in significantly higher transaction fees, and we do not plan to go down that route.
So while the app may support many account and update-related features, donations will continue to be handled through the web version.
What stays the same
The web versions are not going anywhere. They will continue to exist and remain fully supported.
The mobile app is intended as an extra layer of convenience for users who want a smoother mobile experience, not as a replacement for the website.
